What is the difference between the standard cut and the loud cut?

Standard Cut

For the standard cut, the pressing engineers choose the highest reasonably possible recording levels at their discretion and in accordance with both the character of the supplied recording and the mechanical limitations of the recording technology. Unless otherwise specified, all projects use the standard cut by default.

Loud Cut

The loud cut is available when tolerated by the limits of the cutting lathe and run time of your audio. Please note that the loud cut has a higher possibility of distortion and needle instability during playback which may not be applicable for test press claims. If you'd like to opt for the loud cut, you can select it when setting up your Vinyl Audio page.
