How many records does Qrates actually press per project?
Qrates presses your order quantity plus an additional ~5% as a kind of insurance policy in the off chance of damage during shipping or a minor manufacturing defect. Please note that due to variability in pressing we can't guarantee that these additional records will be pressed for all projects and there may be cases in which no additional records are pressed.
For example, if your Crowdfunding project finishes with 100 ordered copies or you order 100 copies through a Make & Sell vinyl project, we will press around 106 copies. These extra 6 copies are used solely as replacements for customers in the event a record gets lost in transit or arrives damaged.
Similarly, we also press this additional ~5% of the order quantity for all Make Only vinyl projects. In the rare event of damage in transit or manufacturing defect, please consider these additional copies as replacements. Otherwise, please feel free to use these extra records however you like.
